Several primary routes and numerous secondary routes are closed for high water; Real-time updates will be posted to 511Virginia
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Flooding has closed several primary roads and numerous secondary roads in the Northern Neck.
Motorists are advised to check 511Virginia before starting a trip to see real-time road closures along their planned route. A text list of roads is available to search by locality.
The following primary routes are closed for flooding:
- Route 3 in Westmoreland County near Chandlers Mill Pond
- Route 201 (White Chapel Road) in Lancaster County
- Route 202 (Hampton Hall Road) in Northumberland County
In addition to roads closed in the Northern Neck, several secondary roads are closed in Caroline and Stafford counties in the Fredericksburg area.
Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) crews continue to post high water advisory and road closed signs and barricades as needed, and will work to address any reports of road hazards, such as downed trees or other debris.
As flood waters recede, VDOT crews will inspect the road and structures to ensure they are safe for travel prior to reopening.
