FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – Construction continues to build a better ride on Interstate 95 in the Fredericksburg region through the Improve95 program, and travelers can expect daytime and overnight lane closures at various locations this week.

Motorists are encouraged to check 511Virginia.org for real-time information on lane closures, work zones, traffic and other incidents.

Message boards will alert motorists to I-95 delays ahead.

Weather permitting, lane closures on I-95 are scheduled at the following dates and times:

Monday, Sept. 27 – Tuesday, Sept. 28

I-95 Northbound

Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 143 (Garrisonville)
9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Single mobile lane closure for bridge washing.

Exit 118 (Thornburg) to Exit 126 (Spotsylvania)
9 p.m. - 4:30 a.m. Mobile single lane closure for routine safety inspection of Spotsylvania Parkway and Massaponax Church Road overpasses, located between mile markers 124-122.

Exit 130 (Route 3) to Exit 133 (Route 17)
9 p.m. - 4:30 a.m. Single lane closure at 9 p.m. followed by a double lane closure at 10 p.m. for project construction. All lanes reopen by 4:30 a.m.
