All southbound lanes are closed near Layhill Road for a crash

FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – All lanes of Route 1 southbound are closed near Layhill Road in Stafford County for a crash involving a tractor-trailer.

Route 1 southbound is expected to remain closed for a significant amount of time.

Route 1 has been reduced to two travel lanes near Layhill Road to allow both northbound and southbound traffic to get around the crash scene.

All of Route 1 southbound traffic has been shifted to a single northbound lane.

Crews with the Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) are on scene to assist with traffic control.

Motorists can expect significant travel delays approaching the incident scene and encouraged to avoid the area, if possible.
