FREDERICKSBURG DISTRICT: CRASH CLOSES I-95 SOUTHBOUND JUST SOUTH OF EXIT 126/SPOTSYLVANIA
Delays will impact evening rush hour; Traffic getting by crash scene using the left shoulder

UPDATE 8:15 P.M. -- All lanes are now open at mile marker 123 in Spotsylvania County.

UPDATE 5 P.M. -- The center lane, left lane, and left shoulder of I-95 are now open at mile marker 123 in Spotsylvania County

FREDERICKSBURG – All lanes on I-95 southbound are closed to traffic at mile marker 123 in Spotsylvania County due to a crash involving two tractor trailers. 

Crews are on scene working to remove the wreckage and debris from the roadway before opening the lanes to traffic. Motorists are currently getting by the crash scene using the left shoulder.

Crash clean-up is expected to take approximately two additional hours to complete.  It is anticipated that travel lanes will reopen one lane at a time as the cleanup effort progresses.

Current delays on I-95 southbound begin approximately 10 miles north of the crash scene near Exit 133 Route 17/Falmouth.  

Motorists are encouraged to use Route 1 southbound as an alternate route.
