EMERGENCY REPAIRS ALONG WESTBOUND ROUTE 360 IN WARSAW START NEXT WEEK
Crews will install a new pipe and repair the slope to reopen westbound lane by late May 2019
FREDERICKSBURG, Va. – The Virginia Department of Transportation (VDOT) will soon begin emergency repairs along the right westbound lane on Route 360 (Richmond Road) in Warsaw and anticipate to reopen the lane by late May 2019.
On December 20, 2018, crews discovered a pipe and slope failure, compromising the safety of the pavement on Route 360 near Route 697 (Indian Field Road) in Richmond County. Crews then immediately closed the right westbound lane for approximately a quarter mile.
Starting next week, crews will mobilize equipment to begin work to install a new drainage pipe, a new drop inlet, and repair the damaged slope by building a new embankment.
Drivers are advised to stay alert to crews working along the shoulder and construction equipment slowing down to enter or exit the work zone.
A message board will remain in place to alert motorists to the westbound lane closure and work zone.
The emergency repairs are expected to be complete by the end of May 2019.
Approximately 8,400 vehicles a day travel Route 360 near Warsaw in Richmond County, according to a 2017 traffic count.
